The TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Living in a Fair and Diverse Society course assesses the following units:

Unit 1: Equality and Diversity

In this unit we will examine what is meant by the terms ‘equality’, ‘diversity’ and ‘inclusion’, and consider why these are important in the workplace, our communities and the wider society. We will reflect on the key aspects of the Equal Pay Act 1970 and the Equality Act 2010 in order to consider their impact on the workforce, employers and organisations.

Unit 2: Promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

In this unit we will consider how to promote equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in our daily lives. We will reflect on our own lives and consider ways in which we can promote equality and diversity in our communities and daily lives.

Unit 3: Positive Equality Movements

In this unit we will examine the meaning of positive equality, positive action and discrimination and consider ways in which to promote equality and challenge discrimination. We will reflect on the work of individuals and groups in promoting positive equality as well as consider the benefits of modern positive equality events.

Unit 4: British Values

In this unit we will examine the four British values that underpin society and help us build a safe and united society. Each value will be defined and explored in relation to the workplace, the community and society. We will reflect on how we can practise these values in daily life so that the diversity found in our communities can be maintained.
