TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity Course Content

The TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity course assesses the following units:

Unit 1: Equality and Diversity in Society

In this unit we will examine what is meant by equality and diversity and consider the characteristics that people have in common and what makes them different. We will also examine the effects of prejudice, discrimination, stereotyping and labelling on people and why people hold these views. We will reflect on our own attitudes towards people who have different characteristics and consider our own and others’ multiple identities. We will reflect on how these identities make everyone unique and how these variations contribute to society as a whole.

Unit 2: Equality and Diversity in the Community

In this unit we will examine examples of diversity, equality and inequality and consider the range of support services available to individuals and groups in the community. We will also consider which people might be in need of these services. We will reflect on the benefits of diversity and also on the threats by looking at ways to overcome these in order to promote equality and fairness in a diverse society.

Unit 3: Equality and Diversity in the Workplace

In this unit we will examine what is meant by equality and diversity in the workplace and how this should be monitored and maintained. We will also consider how workers’ rights are protected and what support is available to workers. We will reflect on the benefits of creating diverse workplaces and the consequences of not ensuring that employees are treated equally and fairly.

To pass this course learners must pass 3 written assignments. These are completed after navigating through the corresponding lessons and writing your answers to assignment questions.
