Studying for the Early Years Level 3 course with us will give you an insight into various different aspects of caring for children and babies. The course is good for those who want to learn about the needs and developmental stages of children through their early years.

Certification

To gain this Early Years Level 3 course you will need to submit, and pass, all of the tutor marked assignments. There are five assignments in the course and no need to purchase any textbooks as we provide all of the lessons and materials required to learn the syllabus. All assignments are coursework based and are in an essay/question and answer style to test your knowledge of the topics covered in each of the course sections.

Course Content

This course assesses the following units:

Unit 1: Safeguarding and Welfare

In this unit you will show your understanding of safeguarding and how to ensure a child or young persons welfare is cared for. This relates to caring for children with common injuries and illnesses, types of abuse and bullying and how to deal with these subjects.

Unit 2: Play for early learning

This unit focuses on play for children and how it is an important part of learning and development. You will learn about types of play and how the role of the adult in children’s play and activities impacts the session.

Unit 3: Food and nutrition

In this unit you will learn about food groups and why everyone needs to eat a balanced diet. You will learn about food hygiene and safety. The unit covers the impact on someone consuming a varied and well-balanced diet and how it would affect them with the intake of nutrients and vitamins.

Unit 4: Child development

A strong understanding and knowledge of child development is vital in working with children. This unit will go through the development of a child from pregnancy through to childhood years.

Unit 5: Accident prevention and fire safety

Unit 5 focuses on the risks that can occur when babysitting or taking care of children and the precautions that need to be taken to ensure the safety of the children.

This course can be taken over a 12 month period but you can complete it as fast or as slowly as you wish.

Assessments

To pass this course learners must pass 5 assignments. These are completed after navigating through the corresponding lessons and writing your answers to assignment questions. Enrolment Length
