About this CACHE Level 4 Award in PANCo Course

Studying for the CACHE Level 4 Award in PANCo will allow existing early years practitioners to fully develop their knowledge of health and well-being in order to ensure children in their care have the best start in life. Upon completion of this qualification, learners are qualified to be a Physical Activity and Nutrition Co-ordinator (PANCo) in an early years environment.

Upon completion of this qualification, students are awarded a CACHE Level 4 Award in PANCo Certificate. All certification fees are included in your course fees. This qualification is suitable for a range of different career paths in settings such as:

Qualification

The CACHE Level 4 Award in PANCo is a knowledge and skills based qualification. You therefore must have a job or voluntary placement in a school or college environment in order to complete this course. The course is assessed by both knowledge based written assignments and practical tasks (which are witnessed by a colleague). This course requires students to pass 5 written assignments and 2 practical assignments (evidence for these is uploaded to our online campus). The qualification can be taken over a 12 month period but you can complete it as fast or as slowly as you wish.

CACHE Level 4 Award in PANCo Course Content

Included in this CACHE Level 4 Award in PANCo course are the following units:

Unit 1 – Current frameworks and your own setting

In the first unit of this PANCo course, you will cover current frameworks in early years and the importance of exercise and good nutrition for children. We will look at strategies to support children within early years settings and how to analyse and improve your own role in relation to promoting healthy lifestyles.

Unit 2 – Promoting the PANCo programme

In the second unit of this course, we will be covering international, national and local approaches to physical wellbeing and healthy eating in early years. The PANCo model as a whole will be fully explained so that you are fully aware of your role and understand how to promote healthy lifestyles in early years.

Unit 3 – Valuing the voice of a child and implementing change

In our final unit of this course we will cover how to implement change in an early years setting as well as work with your team to develop a positive, enabling environment for healthy lifestyles. Working with parents and carers is also covered so that you can work collaboratively to ensure children make healthy choices.

Assessments

To pass this course learners must pass 7 assignments. These are completed after navigating through the corresponding lessons and writing your answers to assignment questions.
