Upon completion of this qualification, students are awarded a CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent and an OLC Certificate. All certification fees are included in your course fees. This qualification is suitable for a range of different career paths in settings such as:

Qualification

This is a knowledge only qualification. Experience in the real work environment is not required and the entire course is completed online. Please note that this is a knowledge only Level 2 qualification and does not require any practical assessments. This course requires students to pass 3 tutor marked assignments. The qualification can be taken over a 12 month period but you can complete it as fast or as slowly as you wish.

CACHE Level 2 Safeguarding and Prevent Course Content

Included in this CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent course are the following units:

Unit 1 – Understanding the Prevent Duty

In this unit, you will learn about the key features and objectives of the Prevent Duty and what key terms relating to the Prevent Duty mean. You will learn about your own role within the Prevent Duty and who else needs to conform to it.

  • Understand the terms ‘radicalisation’, ‘extremism’ and ‘terrorism’
  • Understand how to reduce the risk of radicalisation

Unit 2 – Understanding safeguarding

In this unit, you will learn what safeguarding is and some of the key legislation to which it relates. You will also learn what ‘the right to stay safe’ means as well as how safeguarding and child protection differ.

  • Understand the national and local context of safeguarding and protection from abuse
  • Know how to recognise signs of abuse or potential harm
  • Know how to respond if abuse or harm is disclosed, suspected or alleged

Unit 3 – Understanding online safety

In this unit, you will learn about the potential consequences of online conduct, contact and content. You will also learn about the kinds of acceptable use policies that are used in various settings.
